Help for Bill’s Arthritis

Hello,

My name is Bill and I am, or should I say, I was a sufferer of chronic arthritis in my joints. I had trouble walking and sometimes even the simplest of chores like taking out the garbage was painful. I was on meds for these things, but man, they can be expensive if you don’t have enough insurance to cover them. Medical assistance can only help so much as well. I kept on going back to the doctor because of the pain but I didn’t want to get stuck on pain killers. I’ve heard too many stories about those, you know, how you can get addicted to them. Finally I went to another doctor. He told me something similar to the other one I had but to a greater extent. My old doctor said to exercise, which I was doing. This new one told me to get a regular exercise routine, one that I can enjoy and something that can be for the whole body.

The Search

I started looking online for different things. I thought it would give a better idea of what I could buy.  I came across something called the P90X. I saw the pictures of the people on the site and figured it was only for the guys and girls who wanted to body build. For some reason I can’t explain, I looked some more. I found out that even people with disabilities and injuries use it because they have lots of different levels of exercises. I finally decided to order it. The price was good considering all of the extra stuff that came with it.

The Workout

I got the system not very long after I ordered it and started a couple days after that. I looked through the material a bit and found some exercises that I liked. I started with only 20 minutes a day. I increased it to 30 minutes the week after, and now I am doing an hour a day and it is two months later.

The Improvement

I have seen so much improvement that I can’t believe it. My pain has eased up and I’m on a lower dose of pain killer now. In fact, I don’t’ have to take them everyday anymore. That’s something major for me. I have been taking them, well, different ones, for years now. I can’t wait to see what happens after another month or two.

My name is Cassie, I am a 3rd year student in med school. I know this might sound a little off, but even being a medical student didn’t really make me want to lose my extra weight. I was always a bit overweight to tell you the truth but I didn’t really care so much growing up. A lot of my friends were overweight as well. I got teased plenty and I kind of got used to it even though it hurt my feelings. I started to stay inside a lot more and I didn’t really date. When I got to university I found that my friends had shed some weight, had gotten boyfriends and were really enjoying life. I wanted my turn as well.

My Slooow Journey

Yes, my journey was a tadbit slow. See, I was making a lot of excuses. I blamed my schedule – I couldn’t find time to exercise or cook. I blamed the diets saying that they didn’t work, which by the way is probably right because they didn’t. By the way, if a diet tells you to only eat one food constantly then it probably won’t work. I tried these for over a year. My best friend and I joined a gym but I hated it because I felt really silly using the equipment. Then I ordered a stationary bike to use at home. That collected dust. I couldn’t handle doing the same thing day in, day out. Well, this continued on until just recently. Then I smartened up.

The Transformation

Ever since I started using this thing, I have been telling my friends all about it. The name? the P90X. Yeah, it might look technical but there were plenty of instructions for it with tons of exercises. I like variety and that is what I got. I focused a lot on the different cardio exercises but added other things into my routine as well. I use it for about 45 minutes a day. Not only has it made me look so much better after using it for 3 months, but I feel a lot better. I have a lot more energy. By the way, I lost 30 pounds which means I sit at 120 pounds now.

Change of Life?

You bet. With the extra energy, I do better at school, I can concentrate better and I can be more active in everyday life. I have more confidence which led me to talk to a nice guy that I met in class and I managed to snag myself a great boyfriend. Things couldn’t be better.

Social Life for Colin B.

Hey Y’all,

Let me just start by saying that not all smart people are nerds okay, I just happened to be one of them. LOL, seriously though, I was a nerd and I was out of shape. I don’t mean terribly out of shape or obese, but I wasn’t in shape. I certainly wasn’t turning any girls’ heads. If I was it was because I had a ‘kick me’ sign on my back. Even when I started college, things didn’t change much. I was a little clumsy, a little out of shape and so on. Yes, girls like the smart ones but they like other things that go along with it – like a nice shape and of course, hand-eye coordination, or even feet-moving-without-tripping coordination. Perhaps I am painting an exaggerated picture but you get the point.

Something I knew before but didn’t bother to put into practice was the idea of working out to better myself. I mean there are lots of benefits to working out.

  • You get more energy
  • You look better
  • Your body is healthier and stronger
  • You learn better coordination (a must for me)
  • And yes, a bunch of other things

For some reason I didn’t take the thought seriously until one of my buddies told me about P90X and how great it was. I thought it was a stupid idea at first ‘cause you see all of the advertisements of these home systems making way too many promises. I remember seeing them on TV and analyzing every one of them and speculating how impossible these promises were to actually fulfill. Anyway, I tried his system and liked it, sooo… I got my own.

I had a bit of trouble being consistent then I finally read the guide! I used the planner that came with it and wrote down every day what I was doing. This made it easier. I’ve used it for about 4 months now and I look better, feel better, and I even have better coordination. I have to say, I really like my abs. I even impressed a couple girls at school.

Anyway, things are going great. I love the system and would highly recommend it to anyone else who wants to get into shape. It’s not difficult and there are lots of things for you to try. Just read the guide that goes with it and you will be fine!

Phil Preparing for Competition

I am Phil and I am a body builder. Well, I have a regular paying job but I enjoy body building on the side and I participate in amateur competitions. Due to my experience in the field for the last several years, I have learned an unfortunate truth. Many of the home body building systems simply don’t work. There may be videos that accompany them or manuals, but often times these individuals portrayed are not the average or even amateur body builder.

I have been through a number of these systems and decided to try out the P90X several months ago. I was lured in by the exercise guide and the meal guide. These are two items that even when they are included, don’t usually have much substance. These guides are totally different. They are in-depth and the meal guides are actually practical. I can eat healthy and still enjoy my meals. It’s an awesome feeling.

Since I already knew the basics of body building I knew what proper guides should contain, and these were accurate. They include the right combination suggestions for exercises and a lot of them. There are a dozen different categories of exercises including Yoga, which might seem a little odd, but this type of exercise is quite helpful with any form of training.

Body building has always been an enjoyable sport for me and I feel good about it. Since I got the P90X home workout system, I feel even better and I have even won more competitions. It really gives me a full body workout which is absolutely essential. I haven’t gotten one injury or strain while using the system which is unusual when you train so hard.

I really can’t say enough about the P90X. Anyone who is into body building, weight lifting, or any other sport can find a world of benefit from it. There are so many exercises that you can simply choose the ones that are best for you or most relevant to your sport and start right away. There are always new levels and new challenges for you to try. You will never run out or become bored.

If you are worried about cost, it isn’t expensive compared to many other home workout systems. You can pay a lot more for another system that doesn’t work nearly so well as this one even at your local shop. I highly suggest that you try this one out. It is well worth your time and money.

My name is Debbie and I am an office administrator. I don’t normally write reviews for anything but in this case I had to. It’s about the P90X.

I am guessing that everyone knows that confidence is a big factor in life. How far you get in life depends on how much confidence you have in getting to where you want to go. Unfortunately for various reasons, not everyone has this confidence. Lacking confidence can really slow down the pace of life. You never think you are going to get the right job, keep good friends, and you often depend on others to reassure you. That is what I was like before the P90X.

Don’t Be Skeptical

I was skeptical of this system at first. It is a home workout system and I figured that maybe I would try it so that I could get into better shape. I didn’t fully understand the self-confidence that would come with it at a later date. I worked out everyday mostly to relieve my frustrations with life. It was something that I could do even though I had never really worked out before. There were so many levels that even a beginner like me could have a nice go at it without feeling discouraged. It was great. I kept track of my efforts and I could feel the difference inside and I could see the difference in the mirror. My muscles were getting toned and I was losing weight. I was no longer skeptical after the first 6 weeks. I felt in much better shape.

Social Life Renewed

After some time I decided to take my friends up on their offer of going out more often and just hanging out. I was no longer ashamed of how I looked and I even started to be more outgoing. Cherise, Lost Weight after Twins

Hi, my name is Cherise and I am a 32 year old mother of four.

I am writing this to share my story with all of those mothers who want to get back into shape but think it is a hopeless cause. It’s not a hopeless cause if you want it and if you have the right equipment.

How I Gained the Weight

As with many mothers, I lost track of my weight right after having my first child. It was hard keeping up with the little guy. Of course once I got used to that, the second one came along and there was even less time. All of you mothers know the story I am sure. Well, a few years after the second child, while the first was only five, my husband and I got an unexpected little piece of news – we were expecting twins. We were elated. Now we have four wonderful children – but after a couple of years, I had on 40 extra pounds. This is actually pretty common for moms to have but I wasn’t comfortable with my weight. In fact, I hated it.

It Was Time to Act

My husband knew that I was uncomfortable with how I looked at felt so he (bless his heart) got me a gym set. BTW, like many women when their men buy them exercise sets, I was upset. That didn’t last for very long though. I put the video into the player and read over the guide to get some motivation and in one sense to stall a little as well, though I didn’t want him to know that. I honestly had never heard of P90X. He had heard of it from some website he found surfing the net. I organized myself and even wore some gym clothes – removed any mirrors in the room and started out.

Results?

So now is the time to tell you my results. LOL, I am sure you have guessed it by now anyway, but yes, I have lost most of the weight that I have gained in the last seven years but within several months. I had to stay consistent with the workouts and eat according to the meal guide which isn’t so difficult but it really worked. Now I am looking almost the same way I was before I had children and the exercise has given me the energy that I need to keep up with them!

I am Geoff. I am 54 years old and I was drastically overweight. That is in the process of changing all because of P90X. Don’t take this as an ad or anything. I just feel compelled to tell you my story because there are many men and women out there who are overweight and heading to heart problems just like I was and it is important that you know about the system.

How it all Started

Over the years I have put a lot of weight on. I was in denial about it at first. I was getting teased at work and by a few friends but I never took it seriously. Then one day I had heart palpitations and I went to the good ‘ol doc to see what he had to say about it. Well, he wasn’t about to give me any good news. My blood pressure was up to 165/110. He said he could put me on some meds but he wanted me to try something else first. I was to eat better and walk. Well, I like my sweets but I also like life, so they had to go. The walking wasn’t my favorite activity either. After a couple of weeks I had to go back to have it checked out again but it was a similar number that appeared. He said to give it another few weeks and he would be giving me the blood pressure pills. I didn’t want that.  I asked a friend and this is what they told me – “Get the P90X, work at it a bit every day, increase the time a little every day, and if it don’t work, I’ll give you the money!”

I had to try it.

How Did It Work?

Well, the P90X arrived and I started at it. I read through the guide and with some help from the doctor, I chose some exercises to start and a good diet to accompany it. I watched the video to make sure I was doing it right because the last thing I needed was to hurt myself. I tell you, when I went back to the doctor, my blood pressure was lowered to 145/100, and it has continued to get better. I still have to be careful, but as long as I stick to the exercise and good diet, the doc said that I will be fine and good to go.

Hello, my name is Kendra. I just wanted to share my personal experience with the P90X. I don’t normally take the time to write these things but because I know that physical therapy and exercise is commonly used to help with injuries, I thought that this was important.

My Story

About a year ago, I was running with a friend of mine along a trail and sprained my ankle. I didn’t think much of it until after six months of trying to strengthen it with various methods, I was tired of it getting re-injured. I went to the specialist and he told me that I wasn’t strengthening it correctly and as long as I didn’t, I would keep getting injured and it would just get worse. I love running too much to give it up so I had to find another way. Running was my way of getting away from work and from the stress of everyday life. I work at a small coffee shop and I know that it doesn’t seem like much but the stress levels go really high and it’s good just to get away. Anyway, I went online and searched around. Low and behold, I found something called the P90X.

What’s It All About

To my great surprise, the system not only gives you a dozen different categories of exercises to choose from (yoga is one of my favorites), they have special routines that you can do that strengthen your muscles correctly. You can ensure that you are strengthening the rest of your body to keep up with it as well as uneven muscle tone is usually what causes injuries in the first place. There was an eating guide too, which is not a real issue for me but it was interesting all the same.

Present Day Results

I worked with that system for about three months before taking up my usual running routine because I didn’t want to take the risk. I have now been running for three months and I haven’t seen another injury. That doesn’t mean of course that the P90X will prevent any and all injuries however you certainly can strengthen the muscles to prevent them from reoccurring if you take the time to do your exercising correctly.

Recommendations

The P90X is an item that I would recommend to really anyone and especially those who are into any type of athletic activities and sports. It can really boost your muscle tone and strengthen areas where old injuries have occurred. It sure has helped me more than I could ever have imagined.

I’m Dave, I’m 27, and I work as a personal trainer. I have been in the business for a few years now. I had some training so I am a professional but several months ago I really didn’t look like it.

Overall, I have to say that the P90X workout system is a great one for any level. I started at a higher level than some will but there are exercises for the beginner and for those at highly advanced levels. It’s really a system for everyone.
